Having a go at curing a sheep skin - Part 1

I got a fresh sheep skin off Peter this evening and I'm going to try and turn it into a rug. I've seen a video that Sandra Rowe posted on YouTube on curing skins and thought I'd give it a try.

Until I gather all the ingredients I can keep it for a week or so by rubbing some table salt into the skin.

 

The dogs are going mad for it, even Luc the cat has been having a nosy around...

I will post some more when I get to the next stage.
