Jam making


Started making strawberry and blackberry jam today. Laura & Meg helped out with the bottling and putting the wax discs & lids on.

Just a few more minutes, Chris likes it with large pieces of fruit in the jam, I prefer it without big pieces.

Jars are washed in warm soapy water and then sterilized in the oven @ 150 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.

A few kilos of strawberry jam, we have been reusing old mayonnaise and jam jars.

Plenty of blackberry jam for Chris, its his favorite. Big thanks to mum who must have spent hours last autumn picking all the blackberries and freezing them in 1kg freezer bags!
