Juicing

We spent a few hours today shredding and pressing apples. First the apples were graded by mum and José into ones that looked perfect and free of blemishes, these were wrapped individually in newspaper and will hopefully last for a few months and get us through to the New Year.

The remainder were put through the shredder and the pulp came down into the green bucket. Jose has thoroughly washed and scrubbed the machine the other day and today mum and José put some milton through it this morning just to be sure.

After the apples came out of the machine the pulp was put into the press and the juice was pressed out into the 30 liter buckets. In total we got over 65 liters of juice.
