Racking off the cider


I racked off the two fermentation buckets of cider this evening. One of them is fully fermented as you can see form the pic at the bottom. I was going to get demijohns but at €8 each plus shipping I decided to use what David said on the cider making course.

I used one campden tablet per jerrycan and in total I have 8 jerrycans and one demijon filled. I will leave this now for a few months and let it settle and probably rack it off into bottles the next time.

This one is reading 1005 so just needs time now for the yeast to settle to the bottom and clear a little.
